The installation of the servo-press is an important step for NUOVA STAME, it allows us, for example, to test the dies in-house under the same conditions as in our customers’ plants.
The servo-press combines the advantages offered by a mechanical and a hydraulic press. The direct coupling of the motor to the mechanics allows us to vary the speed, and possibly reverse the direction of rotation to achieve high productivity.
A further advantage comes from being able to check which is the best pressing condition for particular machinings , easily adapting the slide speed to the specific characteristics of the supply process. It is also possible to carry out machining even at low speeds; that is not always possible with a traditional mechanical press.
The application package dedicated to the servo-press allows the calculation of movement profiles identifying the best compromise between energy consumption and productivity.
The energy returned, in certain phases of the process, is stored inside the system instead of being fed back into the grid or dissipated in heat, thus obtaining considerable benefits in terms of running costs.
The machine meets the requirements of safety regulations also thanks to the integration of the Safety library, which is certified for use in both servo-presses and mechanical and hydraulic presses.
The servo-press has also been fully integrated with the management systems present in Nuova Stame in order to meet all Industry 4.0 requirements.
